105.1 Life FM is member driven and run almost entirely by volunteers, currently employing one paid staff member.
As Life FM is a faith-based ministry, the committee, volunteers and staff would love you to prayerfully consider supporting the work of Life FM either by making a financial gift or getting involved.
Committee of Management
Katie Meadows – President
Katie has been involved with 105.1 Life FM for a number of years as a Committee member and a presenter. Her day job is human resource management, and she holds qualifications in the business sector.
Katie has presented such shows as The Tuesday Bite and Grace Filled Warriors and creates Godspots for the station.
She believes in the power of the message of the Gospel to renew lives, knowing God’s transformative power in her own life. Katie delights in her family, including three sweet granddaughters, and in friends to share with over a good local coffee.
Jono Phillips – Vice President
Jono enjoys living and working in the thriving regional city of Bendigo. He has enjoyed a career in the medical field, working as both nurse and paramedic. Jono pastored at Kangaroo Flat Baptist for several years and is now pastoring Huntly Community Church.
A long-time supporter of 105.1 Life FM, Jono believes in the medium of radio to engage a broad cross-section of the community, and loves having a family-friendly Christian voice in Bendigo.
Married to Rachel, there is always something exciting going on with their 3 boys. Jono’s faith journey began when he was 4 years old. He continues to focus on seeking to know God and understand himself as a child of God.
Geoff Young – Secretary
Geoff spent many years working as a teacher and in training and assessment, before taking on office management. He is also a Board Member and Treasurer for Bendigo Winter Night Shelter, and Parish Secretary of St Mary’s Anglican Church. Geoff brings a wealth of administration experience to 105.1 Life FM.
Geoff has always felt close to God, but it was in his early thirties he was baptised to confirm his faith decision.
Married to Elaine, with three wonderful adult children and three adorable grandchildren, Geoff has felt increasingly driven to serve others with the gifts God has given him.
Sharon Gleeson – Treasurer
Sharon worked in public practice as an accountant for 32 years, with 14 years spent as an owner/partner for a large regional firm. Retiring from public accounting, she set her sights on volunteering her skills and experience to support not-for-profits and community organisations.
Sharon was treasurer of Bendigo Baptist Church for 12 years and is actively involved in Bendigo Baptist Community Care Inc. She currently chairs Women in Figures. Sharon feels blessed to use her gifts, skills, and experience to support the mission of 105.1 Life FM.
Sharon met Jesus at university and hasn’t looked back. She loves to spend time with her friends and family, including her husband, Steve, and their two wonderful children and three grandchildren.
David Holmes
David attended Bendigo College of Advanced Education and began a career as a Chartered Accountant. His career includes university finance lecturer, senior management and industry leadership roles in university housing, and entrepreneurial ventures.
David grew up in a Christian home in Benalla. His best blessings are his beautiful Bendigo bride, Sue, and their gorgeous daughter Amy. David has a passion for God’s word, and impacting his community through lay ministry, service, personal connections, and music. He is a passionate Gideon, prophetic worship drummer/percussionist, golfer, and runner.
Holmesy, as he is known on 105.1 Life FM’s weekday brekky show, passionately supports the sponsorship team, programming, and the Committee of Management.
Alida Robinson
Alida has worked in sales, marketing and management across retail, media, publishing, and real estate. She and husband, Paul, ran an award-winning tourism business and Alida now runs Bendigo Property Buyers.
Raised in a Christian home, at 17 Alida gave her life to the Lord at a Billy Graham crusade. She is passionate about sharing the love of God through music. Alida presents Musically Speaking and Off the Cuff on Life 105.1 FM and hosts a Sunday apologetics program. She is involved in sponsorship and programming and sees the work of 105.1 Life FM as an important local mission.
Alida is Community Connextions Pastor and Music Coordinator at A Reasonable Christianity church. She and Paul have 4 children and 5 grandchildren.
John McKay
John is a Radio/Electronics technician by trade and likes to be hands on at a technical level. He supports 105.1 Life FM’s crew of behind-the scene techs.
John was first introduced to Gospel Radio at age 16 by his late uncle Robert Willmer, back in the days of FM test broadcasts from the top of Mt Alexander. He’s been actively involved in Central Victorian Gospel Radio Inc., now Life FM, for many years, having served in both technical and secretarial roles.
Married to Cindy, they have a young family of three. John accepted Christ at age 9, determining to walk out His own faith. John brings his faith and his personal dedication to 105.1 Life FM, being passionate about community Christian radio.
Elia Swift
Elia is the Italian female variation of Elijah and means “The Lord is my God”. She is an enthusiastic member of A Reasonable Christianity Church and loves singing on the worship team. Elia is a music lover who uses music to keep her heart and mind focused daily on the Lord Jesus Christ.
She began her volunteering at 105.1 Life FM, assisting the station’s Operations Manager to vet and prepare the station’s music play list and is a member of the Programming Sub-Committee.
Elia also brings a passion for gardening, developing and maintaining the station’s garden with a fellow volunteer. She has a wonderfully supportive husband and is mother to two beautiful young adult children.
Lyndell Broad
Lyndell has been around 105.1 Life FM since its conception and was a former presenter when test transmissions were in progress on top of Mount Alexander. She loves the potential of radio and how it can take God’s love to anyone, anywhere.
A qualified Laboratory Technician, Lyndell has worked across the food industry and medical fields. She works at a local Pathology company while studying Nursing at Latrobe University.
Lyndell is married to Jason and they have two teenage children. Raised in a Christian home Lyndell made a commitment to Jesus early in life. She is involved in the music ministry of her church where she loves to encourage others to sing together for God’s glory.
